PRESS RELEASE: Clearwater Patient Advocate Launches New Elder Care Referral Network
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLEARWATER, FL – In nearly three decades as a professional life-care planner, Maureen Rulison, BCPA, CMP, has seen the value of building strong circles of support for elder care. Her firm, Caregiver Support and Resources, LLC, today announces the launch of a vast referral network for essential services in the Clearwater area.
“Aging in good health or bad requires easy access to resources,” said Rulison, a Board-certified Patient Advocate and life-care planner in the state of Florida. “Beyond close family and friends on the care-partner team – if you’re lucky enough to have them – people need professionals to guide and manage certain aspects of the care journey.”
Members of the referral network play key roles in the continuum of elder care. They aren’t limited to health care providers alone. Caregiver Support and Resources’ referral partners include dozens of professionals from tax experts and estate attorneys to art therapists and hospice providers.
Other members include:
- CPAs
- Home care agencies
- Palliative care providers
- Realtors
- Senior move managers
- Funeral & memorial services
- Transitional services
- Disease-specific advocacy
- Home cleaning & maintenance services
- Medic alert systems
- Meal delivery
- Transportation

“Professional elder care services build an intricate web of support for the wonderful people I serve,” said Rulison, who also provides Medicaid and VA eligibility planning under the direction of an elder law attorney. “This referral network is designed to bring all necessary services together in one central location, making it easier for individuals and care-partner teams to find the help they need.
“Resources and services anywhere typically exist in siloes, where people are either unaware of their existence or confused how to access them. Not anymore.”
Only about one-third of Americans have documented life-care plans in place, according to NPR. The numbers with established end-of-life care wishes in writing – documents like living wills and advance directives – are fewer still, Rulison said.
A well-crafted life-care plan should factor each of the essential services in the referral network, she explained. Resources are also important to caregivers who share in daily responsibilities and emotional burdens.
“As we age, it’s important to have our financial and legal houses in order, so to speak. There are several types of professionals who may be involved in those processes,” Rulison said. “In addition to managing health care, it’s also critical to have services on call to help with tasks like moving to an assisted living facility, driving to medical appointments or even just fixing a leaky faucet.”
Caregiver Support and Resources’ elder-care referral network is expanding and accepting new members. For more information on joining or accessing the referral network, contact Maureen Rulison at mrulison@caregiversupportandresources.com or call (727) 409-2292.
